"More road fatalities happen on a Friday than any other day" Partner from our Melton office, Lisa Paul, was shocked to learn this statistic today at the City of Melton's annual Fatality Free Friday awareness event. This year the community event included a speech from Mayor Cr Sophie Ramsay, information stalls, food, entertainment and a strong police presence. The aim of Fatality Free Friday is to make drivers consciously think about road safety and safe driving for just one Friday in the year. The ultimate goal being that over time every driver's safety improves, and in turn, the road toll could be reduced to zero. Lisa Paul signed the pledge to:
- Always be fit to drive
- Stay focused on the road
- Scan the road ahead
- Keep a safe distance
- Drive to suit the conditions
