Our history

For over 50 years, our dedicated personal injury lawyers have assisted clients following an injury at work, in a transport accident or in a public place. We know the impact an injury can have on our clients lives so we strive to achieve optimal compensation outcomes so you can move forward with your life.

Redlich’s has a history spanning back to the 1960s where our founder, Peter Redlich AO, began his legal career fighting for the rights of injured Victorians. Peter had a vision to make high quality legal services available to all members of our community. This vision was rooted in his belief that social justice is a necessity for a good, civilised society and lawyers bear much of the responsibility for making our society fair.

As President and past-President of the Victorian branch of the Australian Labor Party, he was influential in both State and Federal politics. Peter also had a strong and enduring relationship with the union movement, particularly with Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) Secretaries Bob Hawke and Bill Kelty and ACTU President Simon Crean. Many union officials still speak admiringly of Peter’s passionate and relentless advocacy of their members’ claims.

Peter was made an AO for his services to the law, politics and the community – an appointment of which he rightfully was very proud. Peter’s death in 2013 left a big hole, but the firm he created and the values he has instilled in everyone he worked with continue as a living and lasting monument to his rich life and determination to help build a better and fairer society.

Previously known as Adviceline Injury Lawyers, we returned to our roots established by Peter on the foundation of helping those in need by rebranding to Redlich’s in 2022. At Redlich’s, our commitment to continuing Peter’s mission and supporting injured Victorians is unwavering.
