Last year, we had a shocking 1,195 fatalities on our Australian roads, with 267 of these fatalities occurring in Victoria.
The majority of these fatalities occurred due to speeding and drink driving, which makes these losses preventable.
This year, the Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) have carried on their campaign for Fatality Free Friday on 29 May 2020. The aim of their campaign is to increase community awareness around road safety and ultimately aim for a permanent change in the community.
We, at Redlich's Work Injury Lawyers, have signed the pledge to:
- always be fit to drive
- stay focused on the road
- scan the road ahead
- keep a safe distance
- drive to suit the conditions.
To date, ARSF have already received 482,000 pledges from residents all around Australia and you can sign the pledge too.
Take extra caution on the roads and together we can aim to have a Fatality Free Friday.
