Minimal passing distance trial good for all

Minimal passing distance trial good for all

The Bicycle Network has suggested to the Parliamentary Inquiry into bike passing rules that the Government implement a trial period where vehicles stay one metre away from bikes when passing in 60kph zones and 1.5m above 60kph. This seems eminently sensible. The key is probably not the letter of the law, but the education of drivers and the behaviour change that may be required. A trial period will also give an indication of whether the new laws can realistically be enforced. If you or someone you know has sustained an injury as a result of a bicycle accident we invite you to speak to one of our expert injury lawyers on (03) 9321 9988.
