Redlich's Work Injury Lawyers recently settled a TAC claim for a client who was injured over 10 years ago as a teenager riding his pushbike on a suburban street when he was hit by a car. He suffered extensive injuries including a traumatic brain injury, injuries to his right kidney, lung collapse, left elbow injuries as well as spinal injuries.
Following the accident, the teenager experienced significant difficulties with completing schoolwork and following graduation, difficulties obtaining permanent full time employment. He originally had ambitions to become a pilot but was unable to pursue this dream due to his injuries.
Redlich's Work Injury Lawyers assisted the Plaintiff in lodging a serious injury application with the TAC. The TAC denied liability and a mediation was arranged prior to the matter proceeding to the Supreme Court. Despite the initial denial of liability, we were able to assist the client to obtain compensation for both pain and suffering, as well as economic loss. The TAC offered a six figure sum which the Plaintiff accepted.
In what has been a busy month for the TAC team, we have also assisted another client settle his claim out of court. The client and his family were walking down the main street in Lorne when a car crashed headfirst into the family and other holidaymakers.
Both parents suffered severe injuries, as well as both young boys being injured in the crash. Having previously assisted his wife with her claim for compensation, Redlich's Work Injury Lawyers assisted to settle the claim for her husband on the day his case was due to run in the Supreme Court. A six figure sum was offered by the New South Wales Motor Accidents Authority which the client accepted.
These were great outcomes for the injured persons who, though differently affected, each had their lives significantly impacted by the accidents.
