About the role
We are seeking an experienced personal injuries lawyer who will assist in the day-to-day operations and leadership of our Epping practice.
Alongside managing your own files, you will lead a small team of lawyers and support staff, providing supervision and support and imparting technical knowledge and direction. In this senior position, together with the support of the Practice Directors, you can expect the following responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Supervise, support and mentor the team in Epping.
- Provide regular feedback and development, as well as coaching where needed.
- Identify work performance issues as well as learning opportunities and work with the Practice Directors and People & Development (P&D) to resolve and implement strategies to manage these.
- Assist with the recruitment of new employees for the team.
Financial Management
- Work closely with the Practice Directors to monitor the financial performance of the office.
- Manage fee budgets including managing debtors and disbursements.
Operational Management
- Ensure the expected level of client service is maintained throughout the office and manage any client concerns promptly and escalate if required.
- Conduct regular team meetings, monitor workloads and adjust new client allocations when required.
Business Development
- Work with the Practice Directors and the Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to develop and implement BD and marketing initiatives for the office, including the production of an annual marketing schedule.
- Build the profile of the office in relevant markets.
Your skills and experience
You will be operating at Senior Associate or Special Counsel level with experience in managing your own file load autonomously, as well as ensuring oversight and input into the wider team’s matters.
You will have a solid background in personal injury matters with a focus on advising clients who have suffered work related injuries. Accredited Specialisation and experience already gained in managing a small team will be highly regarded.
